I have seen people running 4psi boost on stock injectors and ECU for 320 /360 whp/ ft/lb but there is also the TRD larger injectors + reflash option used for the TRD SC. neko. I think, when it comes to the mr2 engine compartment, its the Dual vvt-i head thats the problem. The cam setup interferes with the strut tower. at least that seesm to be the commonly held belief. however, the beams/4th-gen 3sge head has single vvt-i. To really see the benefit you'd need the matching ECU, or something custom to control the second ACIS valve. The "grey top" pictured in the OP is a FWD with single vvti engine found in the JDM Caldina and Rav4. The "red top" can found in a JDM Celica and MR2 and also FWD (MR2 not FWD, but you know what I mean). The "grey" and "red" are basicly the same with one difference. VTEC is developed by Honda whereas VVT-i is developed by Toyota. The VVTi only alters the timing while i-VTEC alters the timing as well as the lift of the valves. The VTEC makes changes to both, the intake and the exhaust valves. The VVTi technology on the other hand works only on the intake valve.
